Patrick Williams' AHL BlogDec 17, 2006 Had a good chat Saturday night in Hershey with Toronto's Tyson Nash, he of 374 NHL regular-season games. Nash is understandably frustrated with the NHL's re-entry waiver requirement. Nash's point is simple -- if you're in the AHL because of on-ice performance, that's one thing. If you're in the AHL because of fine print in the CBA, that is far more difficult to swallow. Nash did not suddenly forget how to play hockey. He can play in the new NHL and he would likely be snapped up in a heartbeat if the Leafs tried to recall him. We've seen this situation with Manchester's Jason LaBarbera and others. Anaheim lost Michael Leighton as well. |
